STATES OF JERSEY POLICE BANNER

One week since missing man's disappearance

Today, Monday 20 May 2024, marks one week since Adam McGrath (58) was last seen. Police continue their efforts to locate Adam and are continuing to appeal for anyone who has seen him to come forward.

All searches, including those of targeted areas, have now been completed and Police have moved into a more targeted phase of investigation. Investigating officers are continuing to piece together Adam’s movements from the morning of Monday 13 May 2024. CCTV footage, dash cam and video doorbell footage are being assessed to determine Adam’s movements, prior to his arrival at Grosnez.

Police are keen to speak to anyone with information on Adam’s movements, or who may have seen him on that morning.

Officers believe Adam left his home in Rue Du Maupertuis, St Clement at 05:30 on Monday morning and turned east, driving towards Gorey.

From Gorey, he then took a route across the north of the Island to Grosnez, where his car, a white Ford Fiesta Zetec, was later found.

Residents who live on arterial routes across the north of the island are asked to check any footage from video doorbells. Drivers who use dashcams and were travelling along those routes between the hours of 05:30-07:15 are also asked to check their footage for sightings of Adam, or the white Ford Fiesta Zetec he was driving.

We also ask residents close to Grosnez and Plemont to remain vigilant for sightings of Adam and to check their gardens and outbuildings again.

Over the last week, various agencies have joined in the search for Adam. Jersey Search and Rescue (JSAR), Jersey Fire and Rescue Service (JFRS), Channel Island Air Search, Air Rescue Channel Islands, Jersey Coastguard, and the Honorary Police have all been involved. Searchers have made use of drones, boats, planes and search and rescue dogs.

Adam is described as a white man with white hair, approximately 5 feet nine inches tall and of broad build. He is thought to be wearing a black or navy short-sleeved top, dark grey or black wide legged tracksuit bottoms (either Lonsdale, Adidas make), and black Skechers.

Adam’s family remain supported by specialist officers.

Members of the public should still be watchful when out and about and report anything that may be helpful to the enquiry to the police on 01534 612612. Police would like to speak to anyone who had contact with Adam in the last week to come forward and call on 01534 612612 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
