Court verdict

Man convicted of inciting a sexual act with an older child and making indecent images of children

Today (10 July 2024), the Royal Court found 41-year-old Krzystof Kamil Lis guilty of inciting a sexual act with an older female child and making indecent images of children. He is due to be sentenced on 14 October 2024.

On the 22 September 2022, Lis approached a 14-year-old girl on the Railway Walk in St Brelade and handed her a sexually suggestive note inciting sexual activity with her. He told the girl not to tell anyone about it. The girl reported what had happened to a teacher at her school and the police were then called.

Police returned to the scene the following day to try and identify the man. Lis was seen in the area and matched the description given to the police by the girl. He was arrested and as part of the investigation, his phone was seized and examined. His phone was found to contain two category B and forty category C indecent images of children on it.

Police Sergeant James Clark said: “The girl in this case must be commended for coming forward and reporting this to her teacher and stopping Lis doing this to another young girl. The States of Jersey Police are committed to catching those who offend in this way and ensuring that they are put before the courts.
