We also work with Stop Hate UK to provide an additional platform for Islanders reporting hate crime, both online and by phone. StopHateUK can offer support, advice and ways to report the incident without having to talk directly to the police, you can report an incident anonymously too.

Hate crime comes in many different forms and can be on the grounds of race, religion, age, sexual orientation, transgender identity and disability, however we know that the overwhelming majority of victims are reluctant to report their experiences to the authorities and shortfalls in national data collection methods also mean that many such crimes remain unrecorded, leaving them unresolved and invisible.

Stop Hate UK provide a telephone helpline for victims and witnesses of hate crime, providing independent support and advice 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Call them on 0800 138 1625 to report hate crime. Stop Hate UK are able to communicate in different languages if requested and they also have a Text Relay service, enabling people who are deaf or have other hearing or speech impairments to use the helpline. People can also report using a British Sign Language service via their website.
